I travel to Ottawa once or twice a year. It's a jewel of a city, a rather small core with a lot to see within easy walking distance or 5 minutes of driving in some cases.

In the winter, it's like Moscow - quite beautiful but not for me but from early May through August or early September, it's magnificent.

So for those interested in going to Canada, what do you think about Ottawa? I'll be happy to server as the excursion leader for that one, but it'll have to correspond to our family's schedule for a visit... probably in August.

P.S. in terms of driving, from the Baltimore area, you go up 83N through Harrisburg, then stay on 81N all the way to the Canadian border. From there it's about 1-1/2 hours to Ottawa via good highway. Total drive time is about 10 hours.
