Hi Everyone,
This is to "start spreading the news" ... we'll post a normal New Meetup page soon, with the ability to RSVP and much more information. This will be our *first ever* TWO-DAY excursion!! You don't have to stay for all of it - pick and choose the pieces that fit your schedule. Here's the general plan we have so far: * Saturday Noon: Meet at Bethesda Fountain in Central Park and we'll dine al fresco - Then we'll spend the afternoon hiking through some of the most photo-worthy parts of the Park, including a side trip walking past some of the mansions along 5th Avenue. * Saturday Evening: Twilight and nighttime photography at Times Square (sunset will be 7:35 pm) - we should start no later than 7 pm and probably will continue until past 8 pm. * Sunday Morning: Sunrise over the East River - we'll get out really early (sunrise will be 6:13 am) and meet at Brooklyn Bridge to capture dramatic sunrise lighting over lower Manhattan * Sunday 8AM: Breakfast at world-famous Katz's Deli! * Remainder of Sunday morning: explore the Cast Iron District in Soho the official Excursion will be over at noon or 1pm on Sunday. Much more information to come! |

Hi Steve, I was wondering if the central park spring day on the 17th was still happening? I kept the date open but I can't stay over night to do the brooklyn bridge even though I want to. If any thing changes I will gladly stay over because I would love to get the sunrise off the bridge.

Hi Krya - yes, it's on for the 17th (Central Park, etc) and 18th (Brooklyn Bridge, etc) I'm putting up the official notice tonight. Looking forward to seeing you there! Best regards, SteveR |

The NYC trip sounds great! I plan to attend both days, unless my husband has a health problem. Looking forward to my first Shutterbug Excursion and a trip to the Big Apple. Do we provid our our transportation? I hear that the Mega Bus from White Marsh to NYC daily is a super deal.
