Let’s take an excursion to the National Christmas Tree. It is located on the Ellipse near the White House in Washington, DC.

The National Christmas Tree and the Pathway of Peace is illuminated each evening from dusk until 11 p.m. through January 1st. Seasonal displays include a Yule log, a large-scale model train and a Christmas manger. Musical performances by volunteer choirs and dancers, will be held nightly on the Ellipse stage. Weekend performances will be performed from 4-8:30 p.m. The seasonal display includes Santa's Workshop, which will be open at select times so that children can visit with Santa.

Family and friends are welcome.

Around 6:00 PM, if you are interested, let’s meet for dinner! Please feel free to suggest your favorite place near the White House, or we will post some suggestions late this week!

This is a fair weather event - in the event of inclement weather, we will attempt to reschedule.

Let's see what the weather looks like Saturday morning. If travel looks difficult, I will cancel. Otherwise, I agree with Kasha - it could be really beautiful!
